Like any roof repair or any home improvement project, bathroom remodeling has its share of myths and old wives’ tales. Most, if not all of them, can be safely debunked and explained away, however.
In today’s post, Certified Home Improvement, LLC, home of the best remodeling experts in the region, discusses four of these myths and the truths behind them.
Myth #1: You Need a Huge Budget
Bathroom remodeling is expensive, no two ways about it. Even so, you don’t always need a huge budget to remodel your bathroom. Most people encounter this myth because they put the cart before the horse—they draw up the features list first, and then draw up a budget to accommodate all that they want. To their chagrin, they then find that everything is so “expensive”.
Instead, your roofing and siding contractor advises making a budget first. Only then will you be able to fit what you need in your new bathroom without overspending.
Myth #2: Bathroom Remodel Means a Bigger Bathroom
Not necessarily. In fact, most people remodel their bathrooms because they want to make the most of the existing space. You can make do with the bathroom being the same size, only with more space.
Myth #3: The Tub and the Shower Need to Be Separate
Not all bathrooms can accommodate a separate tub and shower (see previous point above). Some bathroom remodelers now design combination tub-and-shower enclosures.
Myth #4: Not Worth the Time and Money
Nothing could be further from the truth. Alongside the kitchen, bathrooms often recoup most of the investment poured into it. Plus, new bathroom remodels allow you to take advantage of new advances in water-saving and energy-efficient technologies.
